The location index

The Filming Locations Index: Every Entry by Film, by State, by Address

A film location index built the other way round: one row per location, not per film. Each carries the address or landform, whether it still stands, whether you can get to it, and the month it was last checked.

167 entries · 123 standing · 39 changed · 5 gone

Search the filming locations index by film, by state or by town

The table below holds every one of the filming locations that ships on this site: 167 entries across 28 files. It is generated from those files after each build, so a row and the page it links to cannot disagree about an address or a status.

The question people actually type is where was it filmed, and the answer is almost never a single row: a production spreads across towns and sometimes across states. Search by film to see a production's filming locations together, or by state to see what is near you. The whole point of a film location index arranged by place rather than by title is that it answers where was it filmed and what is left of it in the same line.

Showing all 167 entries.

The deep files

Six of these filming locations carry enough material for a file of their own. Each one has the driving order, the access constraints and the things that have changed since the production. The table above cuts by film and by state; these six go past what a row can hold.

How an entry earns its place: verified addresses only

Every row is held to the same four tests, and only verified addresses ship. An entry that cannot clear all four is left out of the film location index instead of guessed at, which is why some famous titles are missing and some obscure ones are not.

01

It has to be a place

A shooting location tied to a street, a building or a landform. A production shot entirely on a sound stage has nowhere to stand and does not appear.

02

It has to have an address

Verified addresses only, or for a landform with no street number a description precise enough to navigate by: the car park, the trailhead, the mile marker.

03

It has to have a status

Standing, changed or gone. Nothing ships unmarked, and a demolished location keeps its row with the status that says so.

04

It has to have a date

The month the entry was last checked. A dated check that has aged can be judged; an undated claim to be current cannot.

Frequently asked questions

What does standing, changed or gone mean in this index?

Standing means the place is still there and still recognisable from the shot. Changed means it survives but has been rebuilt, relocated, repainted or converted enough that it no longer matches. Gone means it has been demolished or removed. A gone entry keeps its row rather than being deleted, because arriving to find a car park is a failure either way.

Where do the addresses in this index come from?

From the location files themselves. This table is generated from the pages on this site after every build, so a row can only exist if a page carries it, with the same address, the same status and the same check date. Nothing is entered into the index by hand.

Why are some famous productions missing?

Because a title only enters the index once at least one location can be tied to a real street, building or landform. Sound-stage work has nowhere to stand, and a location whose address cannot be established from something better than another location list is left out, not asserted.

Can I filter by whether a place is still there?

Yes. The status buttons above the table filter to standing, changed or gone, and the search box matches on the place, the production, the address and the page it comes from.
