Since Valentine’s Day just happened; I thought it fitting to share a post on my all-time favourite romantic filming locations.
Because who does love a little romance?
Some of these are just amazing places to see in the flesh; and being part of a romantic film, makes their appeal that much better! But all of these were on the very TOP of my list when visiting that particular city, so I am so glad I made the effort to see them.

Bridget Jones’s Diary
The Globe (At Borough Market)
8 Bedale St, London, UK
This location was used as the second floor apartment of Bridget Jones, and that famous fight scene between Daniel Cleaver and Mark Darcy.
Bridget also walks through Borough Market in another scene, so it’s a pretty awesome location really!

Franklin D.Roosevelt Boardwalk
Father Capodanno Blvd, Staten Island, New York, USA
This was one location I waited 8 years to get to! But in 2015, I finally made it here! The Staten Island Boardwalk where Andie and Ben drive a motorcycle along, whilst visiting his family for the weekend.
What an amazing place…even if it wasn’t a location to see! Stunning!
Sleepless In Seattle
The Houseboat Samuel & Jonah Live
2460 Westlake Avenue North, Seattle, USA
This was the very houseboat that so many scenes were filmed in the classic rom-com. I literally felt shivers up my spine standing here looking at the houseboat, and on the road on the other side of the lake, near the entrance to the house.
It does belong in a gated community, BUT fans of the show did buy it at one point (not sure if they still own it), but what an amazing property to call home!

Nights In Rodanthe

I am in LOVE with the Outer Banks!
But in this case, not only do you get to enjoy seeing this house up close when making it to the Outer Banks; you can STAY in this house and truly live the Rodanthe dream. It is called the Inn at Rodanthe. Click here for more!
This house took me awhile to track down online, but I found it! The house is located on the beach along Highway 12, at Beacon Rd East, Rodanthe. Just look for the house with the blue shutters and the tall part of the structure…it isn’t hard to spot!
True romance for sure!
The Sound Of Music
Fronburg
Hellbrunner Allee, Salzburg, Austria
The Sound of Music’ House is easily found on a Google Map under Frohnburg and is about a 40 minute walk from the main Salzburg old town area.
The gravel walkway that was used in the film, is a mainly pedestrian walkway that generally sees people walking, running and cycling along it. It was so lovely walking along this path, and I was singing “I Have Confidence” to myself too!
This walkway is called Hellbrunner Allee, so once you locate this you will be able to find the house if you walk along it.
Hopefully after seeing these, you are feeling the romance!
They never get old for me and will go down as some of my favourite filming locations of all time.
