Have you ever wanted to live a freedom lifestyle?
Maybe you want to travel the world; or work and travel and have more flexibility to do it all?
Or want help in working out what you can even have as a realistic option?
This is where Nicole Connolly comes in.
Nicole is a Freedom Junkie.
Literally.
Nicole is an Australian entrepreneur who along with her husband Michael, sold up shop and left to travel the world for 12 months in 2012. Through this, Nicole realized she was not living the life wanted. She was looking for more passion and engagement with her career and set out to devise a business that would allow her to work and travel and hasn’t really looked back!
Launching their luxury travel blog Suitcase Stories in 2012, and her online coaching business Freedom Junkies in 2015, where she offers assistance to those wanting to become Social Media Managers; Nicole is going from strength to strength as she releases her new course ‘Quit the Cubicle‘; for anyone looking to improve their career lifestyle and get out of the office 9-5 environment.
As a past student of hers, who has undertaken her Social Media Management course; Nicole has helped me try to create my own Freedom Lifestyle, so I can work and travel anytime I want to; just like she does. Unlike other courses that ‘offer’ the world and get rich quick schemes, Nicole is real. She is always there to ask questions, she is a wealth of information, and she will always be a contact even after your course ends…how many of them can give you that? I actually count her as one of my mentors and a friend, which is why I continue to recommend her to friends who are looking for change. She is the best in the business and most value for money.
If you’re looking for a lifestyle overhaul, ‘Quit the Cubicle’ will be a great motivator and get you started on the life you do want. So what are you waiting for?
Every day you wait, is another day you never get back.
Read on to see our interview with Nicole and to find out more information on her course ‘Quit the Cubicle’.
1, You live a ‘freedom lifestyle’. What does that actually mean and what is the appeal of a life like this?
A Freedom Lifestyle is living life on your terms. It means breaking free of the ‘9 to 5 shackles’ and being self employed so you can work the hours you desire, not the hours set for you. It means living a life with more time and money to do the things you love.
Each of us will have a different version of what an ideal Freedom Lifestyle looks like. Mine, for example, sees me globe trotting full time, running a successful business from my laptop, and having time to enjoy doing more of the things I love. And that is exactly what my life looks like today.
2. What is your favourite travel destination and why?
In the last 4 years of full time travel I have been lucky enough to visit 45 countries so picking a favorite destination is always so hard because they have all been amazing.
However, I absolutely adore Paris and have been every year since I left Australia 4 years ago. I also love beach destinations so the Caribbean is very high on my list of most memorable experiences.
3. What is the hardest part of living abroad for you?
I would say the hardest part is being away from loved ones. They do often visit us wherever we are in the world so that definitely helps. Besides that, there isn’t much I don’t love about my lifestyle. I think once you find the path you are truly meant to be on, you never look back at what you left behind.
4. Tell us about your business ‘Freedom Junkies’ and why its so important to you?
Freedom Junkies was created from a passion of helping others find their own version of a Freedom Lifestyle. I felt so blessed and fortunate that I had found my path and I wanted to help others do the same. So many of us want to create a life we love but have no idea where to start. It can be quite scary creating a whole new life for yourself, especially if it’s the first time you have started a business.
Freedom Junkies helps walk you through the transition of not only starting a new life, but also starting a new online business. Having someone to hold your hand as you start a new journey feels like a security blanket of sorts; its comforting to know someone is going to be there for you whenever you need it.
5. So many people these days believe its best to travel the world, quit their jobs and leave. What is your advice to people wanting to do this?
If that is the path they truly want then don’t wait! Your new journey wont happen over night because most likely you will need time to save money, plan your travels, and do things like give notice at work and sell your belongings. But if you dream of a life of travel just know that there are so many others who live that kind of lifestyle so there is no reason why you can’t do the same. A life of travel is a life of excitement, adventure and pure joy – I wouldn’t have it any other way.
6. What’s next for you?
I have been teaching people how to start profitable businesses for a few years now, and recently launch my third course – ‘Quit the Cubicle’. I am so excited about this course because its a culmination of the last 16 years of my entrepreneurial life. This course will help anyone who wants to break free of the ‘9 to 5 shackles’ and start their own Online Empire so they can have the Freedom to live the life they have always dreamed of. So my focus for this year is helping my students achieve their wildest dreams!
As for my travels, I am about to leave the Bahamas after being her for 3 months and head to California for 3 months. My travels have slowed down recently and I now stay in each location for 3-4 months which is perfect for me. I have spent a lot of time in California because it’s one of my favorite places so I am excited to get back there.
7. What’s one piece of advice you would give yourself 10 years ago?
Don’t wait until you are 37 to live your dream life!!
I wasted so much time when I was younger, just plodding along and not living how I wanted to live. So if I could travel back into time and visit my young self, I would tell her to get her butt moving and start living with more purpose. Because life can be truly awesome if you live it exactly they way you want!
8.Lastly, tell us your favourite inspirational quote.
“All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” – Walt Disney

Don’t miss out on starting a life that can get you out of the daily grind and traveling the world with someone who can mentor and give you advice, even once the course is finished.
This has been my plan, and thanks to Nicole, it has already begun for me!
I have been reading her articles about how to create a free lifestyle, but have a question do I have to have my own business already to be able to dream about it, or any idea about what industry or business I want to create? Asking because I am working as an employee and don’t own any business and still searching for what I want to do in life but I am sure about one thing that I want to break this 9-5 , Mon-Fri shift or slavery and devote my time to my children and things I love to do. Please assist me with this , much appreciate it .
Hey Masuma!
No you don’t. Nicole gives a lot of advice of helping people discover what they want to do, what are they interested in etc.
I am moving into social media management within tourism and hospitality once I have all my ducks in a row. But since I am a writer I am also looking to offer sponsorships through articles or even copywriting for other sites.
I guess you need to ask yourself what would you do if you didn’t work in a typical 9-5 job? (I am a high school teacher currently)
Once you have an idea everything else will come easily and you can work towards it. It will require effort and a lot of work but it will be worth it in the end.
Let me know if you above any other questions ?
That’s an awesome article – thank you 🙂
I am starting to work on my own now – but it’s quite difficult if you don’t have the right connections…
But it is slowly going to be good…
So I am definitely going to have a look at her website and her course 🙂
Hugs
Sindy
